Meet Loren

Loren R. Douglass is a Global Business Executive with expertise in delivering revenue growth, improved margins, and client satisfaction. With extensive experience in some of Fortune 500’s most elite companies he has also excelled in Business Operations, Transformations, and International Policy and Government Relations.

Currently, Loren serves as CEO and Founder of MKD Partners International, a firm that provides investment capital and Transformation Leadership services to middle market financial services firms and process industries. Most recently, he was Leader of AIG’s Global Transformation Program (AIG 200) that delivered $1B annual cost reductions through a $1.3B investment transforming core processes, technology infrastructure and business services. He spearheaded the comprehensive platform evaluation for AIG Investments’ Target Operating Model, facilitating AIG RemainCo’s transition following the September 2022 spin-off of AIG Life and Retirement into Corebridge Financial (NYSE: CRBG). Prior to AIG, Loren managed a $300 Million-plus global business portfolio of Commercial, Investment Banking, and Private Equity Clients as Managing Director in BNY Mellon’s Investment Services division. His career includes successful executive assignments in marquee companies such as General Electric, Merrill Lynch, and Goldman Sachs. Loren honed his advising and counseling skills through managerial stints at AT Kearney and Deloitte Consulting as well as through 17 years total board service to The Johns Hopkins University, Manhattan School of Music, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

As a specialist in either turning around difficult business situations or refocusing existing businesses for optimal efficiency, he has a unique ability to connect rigorous process discipline, technology, financial analytics and global business strategy in creating innovative pathways to success. Known as an effective sounding board who provides wise counsel in support of C-level executives, Loren is particularly adept at collaboratively challenging entrenched thinking while also building management rapport based on mutual trust, respect, and value-added expertise on matters ranging from operating efficiency and strategy to systems, technology, policy and global economics. Loren’s consultative approach helps drive accountability through connecting “big picture” strategy to pragmatic and methodical execution.

Loren solves multifaceted business problems with strong interdisciplinary approaches learned through his multi-business General Electric career and 20 years on Wall Street. He has a talent and passion for recognizing, and developing high performing leaders as demonstrated by the breadth of successful professionals that have previously worked for him. He’s a team player that truly enjoys seeing others flourish as they vigorously pursue their ambitions.

He was recently inaugurated as National President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (The Boulé) which is the oldest and most prestigious invitation-only professional fraternity for African American men in the nation.  Founded 120 years ago, Sigma Pi Phi (sigmapiphi.com) is highly exclusive with only about 5,000 members around the world.  Boulé members are luminaries from every field of endeavor, including corporate leaders, academia, the professions, sport/entertainment, government, and the military.  Members such as Dr Martin Luther King, Vernon Jordan, Ken Chenault, Wynton Marsalis, Eric Holder and many more outstanding professionals are among its members.  Their purpose is to enhance the professional and interpersonal lives of its members while contributing to the advancement of underserved communities.  He is leading its transformation into a global, technologically agile organization that serves its members and their families efficiently and effectively.

Loren graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He earned his MBA in finance from The Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has an MA with a dual major in international economics and international law from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University.

Loren is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, The Economic Club of New York, The University Club of New York, The Center Club of Baltimore, the Board of Directors of Jazz at Lincoln Center, former Voting Member, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (The Grammys), former Vice Chairman of the Board of the Manhattan School of Music, and a former Trustee of the Johns Hopkins University.
